Mermaid Washed Ashore 1 by Project-27 Mermaid Washed Ashore 1 by Project-27
Whoops... Finally got around to doing some more editing... Today I've got a few from my sunrise photoshoot a month or so ago. That's right, Ariel went to the beach!! :giggle: I've wanted to get this thing out to the beach since I made it, but almost forgot until the last minute before we left my apartment at 4:30 in the morning and I couldn't decide what to wear... Lucky for me, I didn't give up that nagging feeling that I had an awesome outfit I wanted to wear, and one more glance in my closet had me eye to eye with this costume... So I grabbed it up and off to the beach we went! =D
The hair is kinda blah, since I only realized at the last minute I wanted to wear this one, I didn't have time to fix the wig, and didn't have my brush on the beach... So I just made do...

Because it's magical, the pose is beautiful too, it's like you're a real mermaid.

i suggest you tighten the bottom of the tail, more skin-tight. great job though! love the top!

I have to agree with just about everyone else this is defenently the best shot of the series. If you try another tail you should try a materiel called Darlex. its a sandwich materiel made from 1 mil neoprene between two layers of spandex, much heavier than regular spandex but more breathable than vinly or pvc. the only drawback is I've only found it in black but it can be painted with fabric paint and highly detailed

This is beautiful. The fact that the hair is slightly messy is effective, as you would imagine a real mermaid to look. Did you make the costume if so how did you go about that?
or is it a bought one? where did you get it?
I really want to be ariel for a disney themed fancy dress party but I don't know where to start.

I made the costume, the tail is mostly sparkle-vinyl with organza and netting at the bottom, with wire built in for stability. As for the top, a buddy vacu-formed the shells for me, and I custom painted them with texture paint and attached them to a bra. =D
